2b Kids Children's Ministry

2b KIDS at Second Baptist Church offers a safe and secure environment where children from birth through Grade 5 and their families can take part in a wide range of opportunities for ministry and growth.  Our 2b KIDS children's ministry is based upon the following values:

Scripture and Bible study

We believe the Bible stories children first hear at church and at home lay a spiritual foundation that will continue to be built upon throughout their lives.  We offer Bible study classes for children on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am through a rotation curriculum model.  Classes are divided by grade (1st and 2nd grade & 3rd through 5th grade), and the students learn the Bible story over the course of several weeks in many different curriculum areas.  Children also learn about the Bible through missions education, Bible Drill (3rd - 5th graders), and special programs such as our 2B Leaders Camp.

Relationships

We believe it is important to grow in a relationship with Christ and to develop relationships with significant adults, with youth and with other children.  Summer camps, church-wide fellowships, missions education, Wild Wednesday and Kids Night Out are some of the ways we help children build relationships with Christ and others.

Worship

Children at 2nd B are welcome in worship!  During our 10:45 am Sunday service Pre-K and Kindergartners begin worship in the worship center and participate in a special children's time before being invited to the children's wing for age-appropriate activities.  Older children (1st - 5th grade) are invited to lead worship as acolytes, scripture readers, and as a part of our children's choir and bell choir ministries.
